Thanks to Netflix, I've had a chance to watch several new anime series. I was really suprised how good Trinity Blood and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya were. I went out and bought the first disc of Haruhi, and the second disc of Trinity Blood. The first disc wasn't in stock. Another series I saw thanks to Netflix was Gokusen. It was fun, but not really a series I want to buy. I was also a little dissapointed in GunXSword, it wasn't bad, it just had that "been there, seen that" feel to it. The look and feel was Spike Spegle pretending to be Vash as a mecha pilot. I don't think the Highlander anime wasn't really worth my time at all, not bad animation, just dull story. Post Apocalyptical Highlander.. Why? I had the chance to see a few episodes of the new Devil May Cry anime shortly at Anime Expo. It really captured the feel of the novels with a lot more depth than the game. I hope it gets a chance here in the States. Reviewing the Cromartie High School and the Utena Movie for possible future video projects. CODE MONKEY LIKES YOU (July 20th, 2007 ) I sent Code Monkey out to a number of conventions this summer. It has even won a few awards. I sent it out to Nan Desu Kan, DragonCon as well as AWA Pro's contest, but now I need to start working on my next vid. ^_^ Animazement - Best of Show If you enjoy Jonathan Coulton's song, why not buy it? POST AX - CODE MONKEY ON YOUTUBE (July 6th, 2007 ) AX was a lot of of fun, even if the AMV Contest suffered a serious setback. Code Monkey didn't win, but it was well recieved. I uploaded Code Monkey to YouTube as well as on animemusicvideos.org. The version on the .org much higher quality, but it is easier to view on YouTube. I'm looking forward to reading your feedback.
AMV PANEL AT ANIME EXPO 2007 (June 12th, 2007 ) It looks like Brad Demoss, Tommy Rude and myself will be hosting a panel about AMVs at Anime Expo 2007. However, it doesn't look like we'll be permitted to actually show any AMVs during it. So, we'll focus on discussion topics and answering questions. The Panel is scheduled from 3:30 to 4:30, Friday June 29th in Live Programing 4.
ANIME EXPO 2007 LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY (June 1st, 2007 ) I've sent in a new AMV to Anime Expo 2007's AMV contest. The finalists haven't been announced yet. Work continues on Benihime as well as some of the detail work on the rest of the Urahara costume. I'll be putting up a step-by-step breakdown of the constructions in the Other Stuff section of this site.
